About
My name is Mattias Wallander. I’m 42 years old and I live in Stockholm, Sweden.
When I was ten years old me and my brother got our first computer, a Commodore 64. Ever since I discovered the programming examples in the manual I’ve been fascinated with making computers do stuff for me. In school I took every programming course there was (there wasn’t that many though) but I didn’t know you could actually make a living doing this thing. In high school I discovered the computer science program at Uppsala University and I immediately knew that was what I needed to do.
Since leaving school in 2005 I’ve been working mostly with web development and lately I’ve been focusing on the front-end part of that. I’ve been a software consultant for many years and recently started my own firm continuing on that path. I love how fast the web technologies are moving right now. Almost every day there is something new to be excited about.
Outside programming I’m very interested in personal development. I try do increasingly have a greater focus on that and this blog is a part of that. There may be some posts on subjects regarding that path from time to time.
